Stormwater Quality Monitoring

The Clean Water Act (CWA) or Water Quality Act of 1987 is the primary federal law governing water pollution in the United States.  This includes National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements for permitting through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  With our extensive experience of the analysis, design, and implementation of Stormwater Quality Retrofit Projects, CAPTEC is also providing the monitoring of water quality treatment in the stormwater retrofit projects, and confirm their compliance with the SFWMD and FDEP Grant requirements.

CAPTEC's Staff is experienced with the design and installation of Water  Quality Sampling Stations for obtaining the necessary flow weighted composite sampling that is typically required by the Federal Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). CAPTEC is required to check that the field sampling and documentation complies with the procedures outlined in the “Department of Environmental Protection Standard Operating Procedures for Field Activities” DEP-SOP-001/01. CAPTEC only works with testing laboratories that are National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) certified with the Florida Department of Health (FL-DOH) for all of the analytical methods to be used for surface water monitoring sample testing. Currently CAPTEC is working on water quality sampling projects for City of Port St. Lucie.
